Absentee Owner Postcards is a type of Media (one of the Three Ms of Marketing) that we use in our real estate investing business. It is the mailing of a Postcard to the Absentee Owner Mailing List.
[edit] One Step Or Two Steps
The Absentee Owner Postcards that we use as Real Estate Investors are typically used as a two step marketing piece because we can not usually get our full marketing message out on the Absentee Owner Postcards. We usually include a telephone number to our 24 Hour Recorded Information Line and a link to our Buying Website on the Absentee Owner Postcards.

To get our Absentee Owner Postcards out we usually upload the text for our postcard and our mailing list to the US Postal Service website. The US Postal Service website will actually print and mail the postcards for us.
You can also hire a Mailing House to do these for us.

Typically the cost to mail out Absentee Owner Postcards costs approximately 32 cents to print and mail them through the US Postal Service. You can estimate approximately 10 cents per name to purchase an Absentee Owner Mailing List.

As a general rule of thumb, expect about 1 phone call for every 50 to 100 Absentee Owner Postcards you send out. This response rate can vary significantly based on geographical area and the make up of your list.

We use these primarily to buy houses and so we typically target sellers in neighborhoods where we would like to buy. We can also select a slightly different part of the Absentee Owner Mailing List and use it to find other investors to Wholesale properties to.
