Insurance Agents are critical members of your Dream Team, but often you won't know how good or bad your Insurance Agent is until you have a real claim on a policy.
A word about price between Insurance Agents: it has been my personal experience that many of the insurance policies you get are very similar with widely varying price, but what can often make a difference is how much work your Insurance Agent will do for you to help you get paid on your claim. For this reason, I strongly recommend that while you do shop around for competing prices, you should definitely get recommendations from other key Dream Team members. Ideally, get recommendations from people that had claims and great experiences with their agents regarding claims.
I try to get recommendations on finding an Insurance Agent from other Real Estate Investors, Real Estate Agents and Real Estate Brokers.
