I have been extremely fortunate to have some great Mentors to help me in various businesses I've run including my real estate investing business.

Having a great Mentor on your Dream Team can help you stay motivated, learn the business faster with fewer and less costly mistakes, adopt good business habits and best practices and tap into an existing network of Dream Team members.

To find a great Mentor, you need to be out actively meeting with successful people in your business. If you are specifically looking for a Mentor in the real estate investing business, then I strongly recommend you start taking other successful real estate investors to lunch. Sit down with these investors and find out about their business, their background and experience and see if there is a benefit to mentoring with that person.

Some real estate investors might consider mentoring you without a huge investment of money from you. Some may even do it for some help from you in their business or help with something you are an expert at. Some have formal mentoring programs and will require payment for their mentoring. There is quite a wide variation of mentoring that is available out there and either you put in the time and hard work to find the right person locally or you put in the time and money to hire someone who has a pre-existing mentoring program that you can buy into.
